Writing a submission
- Does it cost anything to write a letter?
- No. Writing and lodging a letter through a campaign is free for supporters.
- Does Yarnify lodge my submission for me?
- No. You lodge it yourself on the NSW Planning Portal, in your own name. Yarnify helps you write the letter and walks you through each step of lodging it.
- Why does my letter have to be in my own words?
- The Planning Portal counts submissions with the same or substantially the same text as one. A letter in your own words, with your own experience, is counted separately.
- Can I change the letter before I lodge it?
- Yes. You can edit the draft or ask for a new one. When you are happy with it, copy it into the Portal or download it as a Word or PDF file.
- Do I need a Planning Portal account?
- Yes. The Portal asks you to sign in or create a free account before you lodge. The final step shows you what to click.
- What happens to my details?
- The organisation running the campaign holds your name, email, suburb and letter. You can remove your name and email from the last step. See our privacy page for more.
Running a campaign
- What does a campaign cost?
- Setting up is free. Publishing costs $500 AUD per campaign, paid once. After that you can close and reopen it at no extra cost.
- Which projects can I campaign on?
- Any NSW Planning Portal project. Search for it by name and the project details are filled in for you.
- How do supporters' letters stay different?
- Each letter is drafted from the points a supporter picks and their own words. It is then checked against other letters on the same project and redrafted if it is too similar.
- Can my team help build the campaign?
- Yes. Invite your team from settings and work on the campaign together.
- Can I see how the campaign is going?
- Yes. Your dashboard shows visits, signups and lodged letters as they come in, and which channels bring people in.
